im with dr j there.. ive had 4 moles taken off thru melanoma and the moles were *where the sun has never been* so that kind of blows the idea that sun has much to do with it. most moles are ok i think its because some moles have deeper *roots* is where the problem lies. but you certainly have to be careful in the sun as they are alot more sensitive xx

Answer:
its not the moles that cause cancer. its the sun on them. They are more prone to problems because they are a sensitive part of your skin but you can get skin cancer anywhere on you skin not just moles

Answer:
Not all moles do.

Answer:

Answer:
moles do not cause cancer but can some can be precancer

Answer:

Answer:
Moles don't cause cancer. However these areas of increased pigment are more prone to undergo cancerous change than normal skin, this risk increases with exposure to sun.

Answer:
moles with sun damage develop cellular changes that become abberant thus potentially cancerous

Answer:
OK, I'm a cancer survivor, but not a mole cancer survivor. BUT….everyone beat me to it. Moles do not cause caner. They just are more sensitive and can be a host to the cancer.
