I’m 14 Years old, and I think that I’ve breast cancer. I dont like doctors, at all..and i would rather to find out what this is alone. I've dont some research, and I know that it's very unlikely for me to have breast cancer at my age.. OKay, On my right breast; there is a huge hard lump under it. When i touch or feel it, it hurts. Is this normal? Ive had it for around 6 months now.. I will tell my mom if it comes down to it, but like I stated, I would prefer figure this out alone.

Answer:
Breast cancer at your age is more than 'very unlikely', it's almost unheard of and the chances of it happening are very close to zero.

Most breast lumps, even in women over 50 (who are 80% of those diagnosed) aren't cancerous, and most cancerous breast lumps aren't painful - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain.

Your breasts are still growing and developing, and any changes are almost certainly hormonal.

If you're concerned, talk to your school nurse; she will be used to girls having worries like this and will take you seriously, and should be able to reassure you

Been there! Not saying that this is what you have, BUT, 6 years ago (when I was 18) I had the same type of huge painful lump. I couldnt even lay on it or anything and at times it was even hot. Went to the dr, and I had an INFECTED MILK DUCT! I didnt even know such a thing could happen!! But after a week of antibiotics, it was gone, and Ive never had another one. Good luck :)

Answer:
At your age, breast cancer is practically unheard of.

Early breast cancer is rarely tender.

On the other hand, cysts can be tender and occur in young women.

See a Dr and get it checked, just in case. It could be the normal formation of your breast.

Answer:
6 months? i think youd have symptoms by now wouldn't you? so i doubt its cancer can you move it? if you can move it i think its benign

Answer:
Go to the doctor and you'll feel better. If it is or not cancer.

Answer:
You are quite right - you are unlikely to have breast cancer, but if you have a lump that’s worrying you, you should get it checked.

Do you’ve a school nurse whom you could go to? If not, why not phone the Helpline of the nearest cancer charity to you (there are lots listed under Contacts on www.after-cancer.com) and ask them. You’ll find this in one of the commonest problems they deal with, but they’re very sensible and helpful.

You’re right to be worried - but it doesn't sound like cancer. But do get it checked.

Good luck
