I only inhale it for 10 seconds each day. These people I hang out with smoke around me and I’m now thinking I should stop hanging out with them. If I develop cancer I swear I will beat the crap out of them .But its my fault I should have stayed away from them. Am I going to get lung cancer? Oh please god no.
Answer:
G'day Jamie,
Thank you for your question.
According to Wikipedia “Most experts believe that moderate, occasional exposure to secondhand smoke presents a small but measurable cancer risk to nonsmokers. The overall risk depends on the effective dose received over time. The risk level is higher if non-smokers spend many hours in an environment where cigarette smoke is widespread, such as a business where many employees or patrons are smoking throughout the day, or a residential care facility where residents smoke freely.[
The US Surgeon General, in his 2006 report, estimated that living or working in a place where smoking is permitted increases the non-smokers' risk of developing heart disease by 25–30% and lung cancer by 20–30%. The report also found that passive smoke causes sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), respiratory problems, ear infections, and asthma attacks in kids.”
By the sounds of things it is unlikely in the circumstances that you described. If you’ve any concerns speak with your doctor.
I’ve attached sources for your reference.

It's unlikely that you'll get cancer from second-hand smoke in general but extremely unlikely given your circumstances. According to the Comparative Risk Assessment project you're much more apt to get cancer from lack of proper nutrition or too much nutrition, as it were.
It's hard to find comparative risk studies that treat smoking, either first or second-hand, with out bias but even with a bias in favor of seeing the tobacco boogey man lurking behind every cancerous cell second-hand smoke is a remote risk compared to many common things such as obesity, alcohol consumption or lack of nutrition. That stated first-hand smoking is a leading cause in most if not all risk studies.
I’ve a suspicion that your question is a joke though. It sounds more like you're making fun of someone you know who's in a panic over second-hand smoke. You, or they, as the case might be, should be more concerned with your state of mind as stress can also lead to cancer. boogity-boo.
Answer:
You can get lung cancer even if you’ve never been around smoke a day in your life. But 2nd hand smoke is never good no matter how long you are around it. If it really bothers you that much, don't hang around those people while they are smoking. If they're good enough friends, they'll comprehend and still be your friend when they're not smoking. You don't have to make them quit, it's their choice, but it's your choice to not be around it.
Answer:
There’s no need to panic!! Your not going to get lung cancer from them, in my view, you would need to be with them for a much longer time. Don't worry the human body can last a lot. Its okay. It would be ideal to stay away from them either way. But relax.
