Lump in Left Armpit?

Author: admin

Very recently, a rather large bump has appeared in my left armpit. i want to believe it's some sort of pimple type thing or something maybe due to shaving (like a cut that swelled up or something?) but i've read that breast cancer can make your armpit lymph nodes swell up. Does anyone know how big the lymph nodes would get then, and if they'd hurt? Because it's incredibly painful right now to lift my arm. This lump is probably about the size of a peanut mnm. And also if it were cancer, would it be able to show up this fast? i mean literally the thing showed up over night and then grew after another day or two. i'm really hoping it might just be a reaction to the antiperspirant i used. i put it on right after shaving a few days ago. but anyway, if anyone knows more about this subject than me i'd greatly appreciate any info!

Answer:
A swollen lymph node can be in response to a minor infection you didn't even realise you'd had.

Most breast and underarm lumps aren't cancerous; this could be a swollen lymph node, a cyst or it could be hormonal

If you think the lump/bump might be a zit or a cut from shaving or a reaction to deodorant then presumably it's inflamed, which isn’t how cancer lumps appear.

You don't state how old you are; breast cancer is mainly a disease of ageing - 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, only 5% are under 40, fewer than 0.1% are under 30 and it's almost unknown in under 25s.

I suggest you monitor it for a couple of weeks, then if it's still there and hasn't gone down see your physician

Answer:
It doesn't necessarily mean that you have cancer. It means that something, which could mean any kind of virus or infection, is attacking your body. When your nodes swell, it's your body's backup protection from harmful substances. If they're painful, it could be serious. Pain could also mean that it might be an abscess. Make sure to go to the doctor as soon as possible and get it checked out.

Answer:
The most frequent symptom, which is often treated patients with lymphomas - painless increase in lymph nodes. Especially enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, armpit, but the increase in lymph nodes might occur in other parts of the body. The increase in lymph node, can lead to edema of legs. Increased lymph nodes in the abdomen can cause abdominal pain, flatulence, back pain. Other symptoms of lymphoma:

Could be a number of things like even a busted blood vessel would cause something like that. I nearly gently bumped my leg about a year ago and got a hematoma out of it which eventually caused me a ton of grief for over 6 months. Can you call your physician and stress the concern you have? Do it just like you have here and tell him/her that whatever the cause, you want to get it checked. Much better to be safe than sorry.

Answer:
Its probably a small abscess from shaving. A hair can turn around and grow back into the skin..very common. Or a blocked sweat gland.

Put some hot wash clothes on it, see if you cant get a head to rise so you can get out any pus. Keep in clean, disinfected as ideal you can. Take some pain killers and don't shave there again until it is fixed.

If it gets more red, inflammed or painful–go to your physician. Not unusual to need a course of antibiotics.

Answer:
Lymph nodes help filter out illnesses.. you might be fighting off a virus.. it could be something as easy as that. But to be sure, go get it checked. It could be a small abscess. or something minor, either way , its not worth taking a chance on.. when in doubt… check it out

Answer:
I had the same lump in my right armpit as well. I freaked out because it was painful and especially when I touched it more. I immediately made an appointment with my family doctor. I was so relieved to learn that there are other things that can cause the little lumps. I wish I could remember the term he said my condition was but basically, he stated it would go away and to stay away from shaving and using deodorants. He said if it got more massive and not smaller he would prescribe me doxycycline which is an antibiotic. If you can, go ahead and have a doctor check it out. My doctor liked it that I came in ASAP because he would know the difference if I had to see him a second time for more checkups

Lump in left armpit?

Author: admin

2 years ago I found a lump in my left armpit, got a sonogram doctor said it wasn't cancerous it was fatty tissue, now the left side of my neck, face, arm and shoulder is in pain. The only good thing about the lump is that’s moveable and soft. I have the ability to actually move it from side to side. How bad does it sound?

Answer:
It sounds like you've already done your research and now that “moveable and soft” is definitely a good thing. Cancerous lumps or lymph nodes are generally hard and fixed, so you've already got good signs. Also in 2 years a cancerous lump would surely have grown in size. Has it gotten any larger? I would definitely still get it checked out though because although it sounds unlikely to be cancer it still could be something pushing on a nerve, causing your pain. Is there any tingling involved? You obviously feel uncomfortable about it so make sure your Dr takes you seriously and gives you a thorough answer that you feel comfortable with. Maybe another ultrasound of the area is in order.

Answer:
I would be very cautious about this, my cousin has stage four cancer and she is only 35 years old. You should be watching this like a hawk.
