I know you’ve to check yourself and stuff…but does that automatically mean you have cancer or is it just a possibility?

Answer:
No, lumps do not automatically mean it's cancer. But please have it checked out to be sure.

I had a lump and several physicians told me it was a cyst. As it ended up, the “cyst” was hiding a rare form of breast cancer.

I was 38 at the time of my diagnosis.

Answer:
No, most breast lumps aren't cancerous.

And Gracie, forgive me if I'm wrong but my guess is you're quite young. The American Cancer Society and other cancer organisations advocate that women start breast self-examination at the age of 20. Breast cancer is mainly a disease of ageing; 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and nearly unheard of in under 25s.

Those facts may help you worry less.

Answer:
No, it does not always mean that you’ve cancer. Breasts are made of fat (which is why when women gain weight, their breasts get bigger). Fat is lumpy (like cellulite), but it isn't obvious from looking. If you knead your breasts, you'll feel some lumps and bumps. This is just fatty breast tissue. Some women, especially, have dense fatty breast tissue, which can have big lumps. Even if there is a lump in your breast (not normal tissue), it doesn't mean that it's cancer. It could be be benign, which means not-cancerous. You should schedule regular mammograms with your doctor, especially if you're concerned about this.

Answer:
No, of course not. It's just a possibilty. It could be just tissue.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago, and made a full recovery a long time ago. Also, my aunt fond a lump and it ended up being just a lump of growing tissue.

Answer:
Not always. several times i've felt fatty tissue lumps when checking myself. If it's something that worries you, go to the dr if you can and have them check, cause they know what to look for. That's what I always did.

Answer:
No, most lumps are not cancer. Clogged ducts and various cysts are much more common. You should never, however, ignore any lump in your breast.

Answer:
no but i would get a manogram just to make sure!
