If so, what’s the survival rate and time frame of living?

Answer:
Whoa, whoa, whoa…there are a lot of ill informed people on this question. Stage 4 of ANY cancer is terminal? C'mon…are you serious? Don't answer any questions if you honestly don't know anything about it.

Staging varies from cancer to cancer and not all stage 4's and agressiveness of each cancer is the same. There is no stage 5 and by the time you hit stage 4 for breast cancer, it's just a matter of managing the cancer more than trying to be rid of it.

Answer:
Char L you are sort of right, there are 5 stages of cancer, but they are 0, 1,2,3,and 4. So the fifth stage of cancer is called stage 4. That’s the final stage of cancer, but as others have pointed out it is not an automatic death sentence, many people live on longer than expected, no one can state for sure.

From cancer.gov:

“For many cancers, TNM combinations correspond to one of five stages. Criteria for stages differ for different types of cancer. “

Answer:
No, there is no stage 5.

Stage 4 is where the cancer has spread (metastsised) to other parts of the body, usually the bones, liver, brain or lungs.

It isn’t curable, but in many cases can be managed, sometimes for years. I’ve a friend whose breast cancer has spread to her bones - the spread was diagnosed eight years ago, and because of treatment the cancer in her bones is far less widespread than when it was diagnosed.

There are no guarantees of course, and bone mets are more easily managed than brain, lung or liver mets. But nobody can tell you how long a stage 4 breast cancer patient will survive

Answer:
There’s no stage 5 breast cancer. Breast Cancer is classified into 4 stages based on a TMT (tumor, nodes, mestasis) staging system.

Answer:
From my understanding, stage 4 of any cancer is considered terminal, beyond cure. It means the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. My stepdad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was given 3 months to live. He lived 4 1/2 years with chemotherapy. Good years, I might add. Doctors stated it was a miracle.

Answer:
There’s no stage 5 breast cancer. Stage 4 is where it has spread to other parts of the body distant from the breast.

It would be impossible to tell the survival rate and time frame because it would depend on where its spread and how bad it was in those areas.

The common survival rate of stage 4 is 20% though.

Answer:
I’m a Certified Medical Assistant

ALL CANCERS HAVE A Stage 5 it is also called End Stage Cancer with a time frame of weeks to no longer than 6 months

You people mark me thumbs down but you have NO idea what you’re talking about.

I have dealt with it both professionally and personally

Answer:
No, Stage 4 cancer is the worst type it is terminal and with shortest survival time. Each person is different for how long they live after being diagnosed stage 4 but it usually not too long. My father was diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer and he died 13 months later.

Answer:
My mum died of cancer last year. We were told she was in stage four, which was the final stage and as she died 10 days later I shouldn't think there's another stage.

Answer:
No, stage 4 is the worst. Survival rate is slim to none.
