Answer:
No it's nonsense.

There are a number of myths circulating about plastic bottles and cancer, and just about all of them stem from hoax emails.

Plastic water bottles may well carry a warning about refilling, but this is not connected to cancer; the warning is about germs, and it's correct - the plastic bottles can be difficult to clean and might harbour germs.

Here are the facts about this particular 'plastic bottles and cancer' rumour:

The hoax emails almost always claim to be reports of Johns Hopkins research. Here is what Johns Hopkins had to say in response to this one:

.''According to Dr. Rolf Halden of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, consumers face a much greater risk from potential exposure to microbial contaminants in bottled water — germs, to you and me — than from chemical ones. For that reason, most experts recommend not refilling or reusing empty bottles. ''

So - if you refill and reuse plastic water bottles you might get an upset stomach, but you won't get cancer from doing so

Answer:
Yes it can be a contributing factor. There are lots of contributing factors and collectively they cause cancer. The superior your immune system is taken care of by healthy eating and exercise the lower your risk of getting cancer even though you’re subjected to exactly the same contributing factors than the next person. Therefor make sure you’re eating healthy and live an active life.

Answer:
Sorry i can't answer your question - but i sure hope not! I re-use my water bottles all the time. I have 3 so i can always have a nice cold one on hand. But - I DO wash my bottles with hot soapy water before refilling them.

Answer:
No. Totally not. They’re talking about the breakdown of plastics. And the half-life of a plastic bottle is about 50 million years.

That is why we recycle them because you just cant get rid of the stuff.

Don;t worry.

Answer:
