I’ve been to two GYN doctors who haven’t felt any lumps on my breast. I recently got a mamogram done. Is it possible to have a terminal cancer of the breast and your physicians don't see the signs. I haven't gotten my first mamogram results yet.
Answer:
Totally impossible.
If they have any doubts whatsoever they’ll have more tests done and cancer will be detected. Even if it is detected usually it won’t be terminal.
If this is your first mammogram then it is nearly impossible for you to have cancer but your breast tissue would be very dense and cancer could be harder to detect. But cancer very rarely happens in teenagers or girls in their twenties.
It is a disease that develops in women when they get into their late 30's - 70's. And having it when you’re in your early thirties is rare.
And then dying from it would be extremely difficult. That means that it would have to grow to a more massive size (where they would detect something) and then not do anything about it but let it take it's course.
Which would not happen if they’re physicians or technicians that can read the mammogram. If they had any doubts they would order an MRI and other tests to determine if you had breast cancer. They would do biopsies and from that determine what stage your cancer was in.
Then they would find treatment for it, and you would live because dying usually only occurs 10% of the time in stage 2. type of breast cancers and those numbers are reducing daily.
Do Don't Worry and Enjoy your youth.
My wife has breast cancer and she felt a lump in December of 07, but did not do anything about it until June of 08, and she is doing fine. This was stage two B and she had a mastectomy with 27 weeks of chemotherapy and then will have 6.5 weeks of radiation.
Her oncologist considers her cured, with a probability of it reoccurring less than 3% with the treatment we are doing with her type of cancer.
You have nothing to fear, so have fun.
Answer:
Why are you worried about having terminal breast cancer? Do you have any symptoms? What led you to get this checked out? I'm not clear on this.
I’m a cancer survivor myself. Mammograms didn’t find my cancer, but I had a great number of other symptoms which led to my diagnosis - the docs found it without any problem. As others have noted, breast cancer is very treatable and curable if caught early. Try not to worry about this. I do not know your age, but it is always a good idea for women to perform breast self-exam (follow instruction from your OBGYN) and get annual mammograms after age 30.
Other than that, rest and just live your life. You are probably just fine!
Answer:
You’re stressing Niki - It's doubtful, VERY doubtful that you have breast cancer with negative tests and doing what you have done getting check-ups. BTW, breast cancer isn't automatically terminal and when caught early is nearly 100% curable, so ease up on yourself and let your physicians know what you’re stressing over. They have the ability to put your fears to rest. Best of luck to you!
Answer:
No, it's not. With regular screenings it's unlikely even early breast cancer would be missed, but certainly advanced stage cancers will be detected. Don't worry about it.
Answer:
I doubt it. Don't get yourself too worked up before you've even received your mammogram results yet.
