It's ovarian cancer and she's taking chemotherapy. It's been almost 2 weeks since her last treatment and yesterday she had painful lumps by her ear and a bright red spot under her chin. Are these symptoms of chemo? She thinks so but it sounds strange. Does anybody know about this?

Answer:
No, these do not seem like symptoms from the chemotherapy since it has been two weeks since treatment. That is too long of a delay time. She needs to call her doctor as soon as possible and describe what is happening. He may want to see her. If this is metatasis he may want to switch treatments for her as this would be indicative that the chemo is no longer working.

Answer:
the lumps by her ears are lymph nodes and they are probably up due to her chemo BUT she needs to get this checked as cancer can spread to lymph nodes. The red spot is probably just another chemo side effect

Answer:
Look up Xango. Doctors don't want a cure for cancer (there are actually several cures), because they make more money treating cancer.

Answer:
When my mom went thru chemo she had alot of skin issues. Rashes, sores, redness in her skin. It can affect everything in their body. So yes.

Answer:
I would get ahold of the doctor as soon as possible to find out what is going on.

Answer:
Her best bet is to talk with her oncologist first thing in the morning.
