A good friend of mine went for a MRI this day because he might have a tumor on the pituitary gland in his brain. How serious could this be?
Please help. I'm really scared for him. Thank you.
Answer:
Most tumors of the pituitary gland are benign, that means they’re not cancer. If treated properly, your friend will be cured. The problem with those tumors is that they take up space inside the skull, so they may compress other important structures near the pituitary gland. Also, they may produce some substances (hormones) and cause many symptoms. Good luck to you and your friend!
