A friends 5 year old son was just diagnosed a with it a couple days ago, I am just looking for information on it, I've searched online and really had limited success…thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that… a 5 year old with cancer… how sad.

I'll try to tell you what I know although this isn't my field. Consult an oncologist for more info if needed.

Well a prognosis isn't a disease its just a medical term for diagnosis. When the doctor knows whats wrong they’ll state what the prognosis is. In layman's terms it diagnosis and treatment plan depending on the way the doctor stated it.

Spitzoid melanoma; Well I myself I'm not sure where exactly the Spitzoid is or even the type of skin cancer it is. But what I do know is Melanoma is a type of skin cancer and probably the most deadly type out there this day.

Treatments include chemo, and Radiation. But please know that experimental treatments might be a option. Some experimental treatments are known to show stunning result.
