Do I have Colon Cancer?

Author: admin

for about 8 days now I have been having an extreme pain in my right side. I went to the hospital and they took a MRI and found “masses” or “tumors” in my colon and in my back. The ones in my back are identical to the ones in my colon in shape and size but they are not attatched to anything other than soft tissue. They’re not on the spine. He told me that it is a huge blockage in my colon and that it is a Mass of some type, and doesnt look like any cancerous tumors he has ever seen. I’ve a colonoscopy monday to see what it is for sure but i was wondering if anyone else has ever known anyone who has had a “mass” in their colon that turned out to not be cancerous. Btw I’m only 21 yrs old male :(

Answer:
You can have a mass in any part of your body that can be or can’t be cancerous. (benign is the term for non cancer)

Advocate you wait until the colonoscopy is done to find out. I know it is hard any time the word cancer is mentioned. My advice, don’t borrow trouble until you know what the results are. You can literally make yourself sick from worry.

Answer:
yes, this happened to my moms friend:he was 48yr old.

Massive growth in the colon, was removed and a section of the colon too.

He recovered, went back to work!no radiation no chemo needed.

he has to get an MRI every 6 months(this was like last winter)

Don't be scared, get those things removed.

Im a female, i get ovarian cysts, these are not cancer either.

Answer:
Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. But as others have stated, try not to borrow trouble (easier said than done I know).

I'm worried by your comment “big blockage in my colon”. This can be rather serious and urgent. If you stop having bowel movements (whatever pattern is “regular” for you) and the pain increases….please get medical advice immediately.

Good luck

Answer:
No one can tell until the results from Pathology are back. When they perform Colonoscopy, they’ll remove a small piece and have it sent to lab. But since you have an obstruction, you most likely have to go through a colon resection.

Answer:
Polyp's are growths that are not necessarily cancerous. kinda like skin tags.

A poor diet without much fiber is thought to contribute to this.

Answer:
go see a doctor who can tell

Answer:
