I went for my first routine screening mamogram, a week ago. My doctor didn't feel any lumps or anything weird. She stated I might be straining my Pectorial muscle. What is the liklihood that they’ll tell me I have cancer of the breast? I’m sooooooooooo scared to call tomorrow

Answer:
Just make the call. Whatever happens, they won't tell you you have cancer - they can't tell that from a mammogram; if there was anything suspicious or any concerns they'd refer you for further tests. Even that wouldn't mean you had breast cancer, just that they were being cautious.

One in 8 or 9 women will develop breast cancer; 80% of those are over 50.

So you can work out your own odds of breast cancer from that really.

It's a routine mammogram and apparently you’ve no symptoms; if you're in the US your routine mammograms will have begun at 40, so you're not in the main risk factor category.

Chances are they’ll tell you there are no concerns. Good luck

Answer:
Most abnormal mamms come back as binary cysts. If your physician had any concerns from the beginning, they would have informed you.

Your odds are 50 50
