If biopsy comes back normal….?

M son got his results from his neck biopsy today. They said it was normal…THANK GOD! He’s still having night sweats and low fever . The fever comes and goes each few days. He still itches. My question is- would any cancer show up on a biopsy of the neck node? Does this mean he’s ok and no cancer over his whole body?I am so happy, but still concerned about his symptoms. What should do next? Thank you!

Has he’d a full body CT scan performed? Possibly a PET-scan could be performed as well. Those generallynerally show if there’s a foreign body and/or cancer in your body. Not everything shows, but most do.

The symptoms you describe though could be related to many, many things. Virus, cold, flu and/or many other types of illnesses. I would suggest venturing down the road a bit more to determine what’s causing his symptoms. Get a second opinion if you feel you aren't getting anywhere with your current doctor.
