I just found out that a friend has a brain tumor, i would like to know if anyone knows the best place for treatment
Answer:
Well I know this. My sister just started treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. We've met numerous people there from all over. There was one lady who initially went to Duke for a brain tumor, and they didn't want to treat her. They basically told her that they couldn't operate and she needed to get her affairs in order. That was two years ago, and now she's a survivor and tumor free. I also met some people who had been to MD Andersen and were told the same thing. As a matter of fact, that's what they told my sister. So I'm not sure if CTCA is THE BEST place to go, but I do know that they do things differently there, and they treat you as a person instead of your cancer. So if you are given bad news, you may want to try there
Answer:
Many times the ideal places to go for cancer treatments are the comprehensive cancer centers located around the US. They collaborate with each other and are often hospitals and universites involved in cancer research and the newest treatments. You can find a list of all these cancer centers at the National Cancer Institute . . (you can also go to the NCI for treatment - your doctor will refer you).
