Anxiety about cancer?

Author: admin

my dad has recently died from cancer of the oesophagus, aged 65 years. His mother died in her 40's from stomach and bowel cancer. with 1 in 3 people getting cancer nowadays, i am worried that i am prime target - i am 38 years old. every spot, lump, pain, or uncomfortable bowel movement i have i immediately wonder if it is cancer. Is this delayed reaction from my bereavement or should i genuinely worry?

Answer:
it's most likely a delayed reaction as both my parents died of cancer too, i know every symptom you can of certain cancers so i suppose i'm still inwardly worrying.

Answer:
I think it is a combination of both. I think it is normal to be concerned about cancer because you have family history of cancer. As far as worrying about the lumps and spots I think that means you are very aware of your body and the changes that are taking place.
