High prolactin level itself does not cause cancer. But some tumor secrete/cause high prolactin. These tumors are not necessarily cancerous.
Pituitary adenoma (prolactin producing adenoma) is associated with high prolactin. Some other benign conditions can cause increased prolactin level such as liver cirrhosis etc.
